Deminter and Berg-Tanka take first in Vigilante 10KBRIAN MOYER / Sierra Vista

TOMBSTONE - Tyrus Deminter and Wimberly Berg-Tanka were the top male and female
runners in the 15th Annual Vigilante Days 10K Run Sunday.
Deminter won the event in 37:07; Brian Hall finished shortly after with a time
of 38.52 and taking third place was Brock Johnson with a time of 40:23.
Berg-Tanka took the female division with a time of 47:56, Leslie King took the
second place spot in a time of 47:06 and Jane Schellagi placed third in 49:37.
In the mens 0-14 year old division, taking first place was Daniel Roberts
finishing in a time of 50:38, Zachary Ornelas took second place with a time of
1:06:37 and Jose Gutierrez took the third place spot with a time of 1:21:08.
A.J. Montes took first place in the 15-19 year old division with a time of
42:16, and Matt Kucharski took second in a time of 45:12. Matthew Carrasco
placed third finishing with a time of 46:13.
In the womens 15-19 year-old division, Cassandra Zubia took first place with a
time of 54:48, and was followed shortly after by Melony Schiffner with a time of
55:11. Destri Bocky took third place in a time of 55:55.
Brian Hall took first place in the mens 20-29 year old division with a time of
38:52. Brock Johnson took the second place spot with a time of 40:23 and Stewart
Harmon took third in a time of 45:66. For the women, Maria Callo took first
place in the 20-29 division with a time of 52:25. Christine Andrews placed
second shortly after with a time of 52:41. Ann Benford took third place with a
time of 54:25.
Overall winner Tyrus Deminter took first place in the 30-39 division with a time
of 37:07. John Stewart placed second with a time of 40:51 and Chris Standage
took third with a time of 45:66. Wimberly Berg-Tanka took first place in the
womens 30-39 division with her time of 47:56, and Jane Schellaci took second
with a time of 49:37. Susy Bocal-Tosca placed third with a time of 50:18.
For the mens 40-49 division Scott Rasenlieb took first place with a time of
41:49, and Pedro Santillano took the second place spot with a time of 42:48.
Gary Maclead took third with his time of 42:56. Overall womens winner Leslie
King took first for the 40-49 division with her time of 47:06. Jackie McAllister
took second with a time of 53:40, and Anne Joy finished third in a time of
55:13.
Ed Miraz took first place for the men in the 50-59 division with a time of
43:58, and Steve Siergert took the second place spot in a time of 46:47. Robert
Core finished in third place with his time of 46:56. Lynn Dobiel finished first
with a time of 59:32 for the womens 50-59 division and Pat Young took second in
1:07:38. Sue Smith took third place with a time of 1:16:19.
In the mens 60-69 division Don Branaman took first place with his time of 46:50.
Tom Mathews finished second in a time of 59:59, and Paul Wise took third in
1:04:23. Jeannie Cooper was the only women in the 60-69 division and she
finished in a time of 1:11:13.
Richard Cooper was the only competitor in the 70 plus division in the mens and
finished in a time of 1:01:21.
