Two newcomers win TMRC 5-Mile Run / Sierra Vista

SIERRA VISTA Armando Cornidez and Kosi Kysar were the overall winners in the
Thunder Mountain Running Clubs Diiligad 5-Miler recently in Sierra Vista.
Cornidez was timed in 31:34, Kysar in 39:21.
Competition was held in the normal age groups.
In the male competition, Stephen Bostwick (38:27), Matt Kelly (41:32) and David
Meredith (54:05) were the top three finishers in the 14-Under age group, while
Preston Jennings won the 15-18 bracket with a time of 36:31.
Cornidez, besides being the overall winner, took the 19-29 age group bracket
with Duane Wingate second (34:07) and Trent Hoover third (35:37).
The 30-39 age group went to D.C. Owen (33:02) with Bill Mangan second (35:20)
and Tim Borland third (38:25).
Alan Contreras won the 40-49 age group (33:40) with Mike Gaffney second (35:20)
and John MacKinnon (36:10) third. Don Tordsen won the 50-59 age group and Don
Branaman (37:04), Harold Hawes (37:05) and Bill Chapdlain (41:35) were the top
three finishers in the 60-69 age group.
On the female side, Elise Dewey (47:07), Elisa Mesch (1:00:54) and Ashley
Trevino (1:10:40) were the top three finishers in the 14-Under age group.
Jamie Epperson won the 15-18 age group with a time of 47:27.
Kysar, like Cornidez, won the distaff side of the 19-29 age group with Laura
Knapp second (39:59) and Amanda Garcia third (40:53).
Kathy Krebbs (43:09), Claudia Cross (45:03) and Kathy Fox (48:41) were the top
three finishers on the 30-39 age group, while Roberta Gonzales (41:57), Kristina
Reed (44:35) and Denise Lundin (45:55) took the honors in the 40-49 age group.
Sue Smith was the 50-59 age group winner (55:31).
In the 2 1/4-mile Fun Run, David Schneider won the male race in 40:25 while
Kayla Durglo (36:08) and Klarin Durglo (34:55) were the only two female runners.
