Knedel, Paddock victorious in Paul Lenio 5K RunKEVIN CAROLAN / Sierra Vista

SIERRA VISTA - Roger Knedel and Brigette Paddock were the overall winners in the
Paul Lenio 5K Run/Walk Sunday at the Pueblo del Sol Country Club in Sierra
Vista.
The annual event supports the Casa de la Paz Hospice.
Knedel was timed in 16:47 and Paddock in 22:56. Both were also age group
winners, competing in the 19-29 age bracket.
Second to Knedel was Les Woods in 17:21, the 40-49 age group winner. Third
overall went to John Terrazas in 18:14. Terrazas also ran in the 19-29 age group
with Armando Armendariz third in the age group in 18:47.
Behind Paddock in the womens overall came Michelle Parker in 22:57 and Catherine
Baka in 22:59. All three ran in the 19-29 age group.
In the 14-Under age group, Justin Dannels won in 22:51. Stephen Bostwick was
second in 23:38 and Cameron Anders was third in 24:22.
Cathly Lewis took the girls 14-Under race in 24:37.
Elise Dewey was second in 26:19 and Mida Alvarado was third in 26:29.
Tombstone High School cross country runner Wes Winslow won the 15-18 bracket in
18:48 with Jason Brumfield second in 21:49 and Andrew Sallee third in 23:55.
Amy Carrington, the lone runner in the girls 15-18 age group, won in 25:21.
Doug Lenio, a 1982 graduate of Buena High School, and son of Paul Lenio, won the
30-39 age group in 19:04. Stephen Cosgrove was second in 19:17 and Michael
Fitzgerald was third in 20:33.
Mary Lou Herrera took the womens 30-39 age group in 24:00. Kelly Martinez,
volleyball coach at Buena High School, was second in 24:34 and Kirsten Berson
was third in 24:52.
Behind Woods in the 40-49 age group came Alan Contrerasin 19:51 and Bill
Carrington in 21:40.
Jocelyn Riley won the womens 40-49 age group in 24:38. Kristina Reed was second
in 26:14 and Cynthia Burton third in 29:26.
Don Albright (24:15), Don Tordenson (25:05) and Rick Nienhagen (26:44) went
1-2-3 in the 50-59 age group.
Jee Lewis was the womens 50-59 winner in 30:19.
Rounding out the field was Harold Hawes, first in the 60-69 age group in 21:51,
followed by Paul Robilla in 23 34 and Robert Wilbert, 23:40. Pat Delvecchio was
the female age group winner in the 60-69 bracket in 27:59 and Wendy Gannon was
second in 44:31.
